In life you may be a saint or sinner
Most of us concerned with the outer, not inner
Perhaps you made a mistake or few along the way
But that is not the lesson, today
Between live patient and cadaver
We the students partake in the macabre
We examine your exterior
We peer inside
We handle your organs
Probable cause, we seek to find
You are not a demographic, a name or number
You are the Harvey, the Osler
As we remove the gowns, masks, gloves and booties from our shoe
Let us take a moment to thank you
